This game on Sunday is supposed to be redemption for Daunte Culpepper. This game was his chance to finally show the Minnesota Vikings organization that he could get better and play better since his injury but unfortunately for him it not going to happen this Sunday.
Before the game even starts Sunday at 1:00 pm, count one for the Vikings. Culpepper has been the most sacked quarterback in a 4 game stretch, to make matters worse he has Joe Harrington playing behind the same line who has only being sacked 5 times this season compared to Culpepper’s 21. So the great debate that will go on for the rest of this year and into the next is whether Daunte Culpepper is the quarterback of the future for the Miami Dolphins.
The Miami Dolphins could have had Drew Brees the quarterback leading the New Orleans Saints to a 7-2 record, but they chose Culpepper, the Florida boy with the big arm and heart. Some of the Dolphin players are dedicating this game to their fallen leader because he can’t play and they know how much this game means to him. Just look at press clippings it s all over the place. Even the coach Brad Childress for the Minnesota Vikings mentions that he knew how much Culpepper was looking forward to this game. The question that the Miami fans need to ask is “Did Daunte Culpepper push too hard this off-season to get to this game and in turn ruin the Miami Dolphins shot to get to the Super Bowl?”
