The week 11 debate starting today is “Who has the best team in the NFL?” There are only a couple of teams that fit the bill and the great debate starts with these 4 teams. Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, San Diego Chargers, and the Baltimore Ravens. Which team would you decide?
The Colts were the last team to be beaten this year and they lost to Dallas Cowboys that was 5-4 and were just beaten by the Washington Redskins 2-6. The Indianapolis Colts have been struggling for the last couple of weeks and have barely beaten the teams they should have destroyed. Compared to last year this team is winning games by small margins, which will help in the playoffs when winning becomes essential. They have the best quarterback in the NFL in Peyton Manning, but he can’t do it alone. I see this team getting to the AFC Championship Game but losing, because they still don’t have a defense and that is what wins championships.
The Bears also a team with one loss which looks like the team to beat in the NFC. In order for the Bears to win a championship they need to beat an AFC team. Their only loss this year came at home against the Miami Dolphins who at that time had only won one game. The Chicago bears defense is one of the best in the league and it showed again on Sunday against the Jets why this team will battle for the championship as they got heir second shutout of the season. If there is one question about this team, it is that can Rex Grossman the quarterback take them to the Super Bowl? In 10 games Rex has either been real good(all games won by more then 13 pts) or real bad ( thrown more interceptions than touchdowns). What this team does in the playoffs is going to depend on what Rex Grossman can do.
The Chargers in the last 6 years have had the number one draft pick and on both occasions they traded the pick. Well just in case you didn’t know both of those trades have done wonders for the organization. The trade of Michael Vick for LaDainian Tomlinson in 2001 and the trade of Eli Manning for Phillips River in 2004 have paid off big dividends in the last two weeks. The San Diego Chargers in the last two weeks have come back from being down 17pts in the mid game to winning the games. The two players that have spearheaded the come backs are the draft picks. This team has a legit chance at winning the Super Bowl. They have both the defense and offense to get there. Most of all they have the best football player in the league LaDainian, hands down. He is awesome, just this Sunday against the Broncos he was the fastest person to reach 100 touchdowns in the NFL. He did this in 86 games and by the time he is done he will pass all the great running backs that have ever played this game.
The Ravens. When you talk about this team you talk about DEFENSE. This team is like the Chicago Bears where their defense is what matters, but the only difference is that they have a quarterback that has been to the Super Bowl before. Steve McNair has been a MVP of the league and is looking to take this team to the next level again. Since the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens has taken over play calling duties this team has been unstoppable. They have won 4 straight games by averaging over 26 pts a game. You put that with a solid defense and you have yourself a Super Bowl contender. The question for this team is, can they beat the real teams in the AFC knowing that out of the top ten teams in the league 7 come from the tough AFC.
Please lets us know which team you think has a chance of winning. If your team is not here let me know who you think will win?
