FOXBORO - Attempted to get a read on how the players received Bill Belichick's latest motivational ploy. The Patriots coach did some redecorating of Gillette Stadium during the offseason, ridding the walls of all pictures commemorating the three Super Bowl championship teams. This wasn't just a matter of leaving the place without all reminders of the team's storied past. This was a complete wipeout of all pictures, new and old, whether it was Troy Brown or Julian Edelman, Tedy Bruschi or Jerod Mayo. The Patriots did win 10 games and the AFC East a year ago, but they never really won over their fans and, one strongly suspects, coach Bill Belichick due to a lack of consistency and resiliency. As one would expect, that led to an active offseason for an organization that measures success in terms of how many Super Bowl trophies it has on display at Gillette Stadium.
